A giant variety of pumpkin that can reach a weight of 400-500 pounds.
1. Planting time: In warm climates, you can start planting pumpkin seeds directly outdoors after the last frost. In a cooler climate, it is recommended that you start your seeds indoors 2-4 weeks before the last frost.
2. Soak the pumpkin seeds in warm water for 24 hours before planting to help germination.
3. Choose a location in full sun that has rich, sandy, and well-drained soil.
4. Plant the seeds: If planting directly outdoors, plant each pumpkin seed 1 inch deep and 4-8 feet apart. If starting indoors, plant the seeds in 4-inch peat pots filled with seed starting mix and transplant the seedlings outside 2-3 weeks after the last frost.
5. Water and fertilize: Water the pumpkin plants well and fertilize them every three weeks with a balanced fertilizer.
6. Weed regularly: Keep the area around the pumpkin plants weed-free.
7. Give the plants plenty of space: Pumpkin vines can grow up to 20-30 feet, so give them plenty of open, sunny space to stretch out.
