2020, in which the Eagles went 4-11-1, is probably not one fans will wish to remember. But fortunately, through newspaper headlines of the time, they can reacquaint themselves with all the greatest moments in The Birds’ history in this personalised Eagles history book! With coverage beginning in 1937, this fine piece of Eagles memorabilia guides you through the decades, revisiting all the key moments from the Municipal Stadium to Lincoln Financial Field, including their Super Bowl LII victory. The Philadelphia Eagles had been waiting a long time for their Super Bowl victory. Before the NFL/AFL merger, the franchise had won three championships, including back-to-back triumphs in 1948 and 49. The third came in 1960, and what followed was 57 seasons of near misses and no-hopers, the third-longest championship drought in pro football. They did come close, twice, in 1980 and 2004, the latter being a particularly tight Super Bowl game in which the Eagles were tied with the Patriots at the end of the third quarter, before being pipped to the finish line by their more experienced opponents. But in this story of threes, it would indeed be third-time lucky for Philadelphia, taking revenge on Brady and New England in Minneapolis to finally taste Super Bowl glory on February 4th, 2018.
